The Undertaker faced many legends during his career, but he never locked up with the man they call Sting. This is a match some fans still want to see.

Sting is no longer under WWE’s roof. His contract ran out and they can’t even sell action figures of him anymore. The Undertaker is in midst of a decades-long contract. If a match were to go down WWE would be the location, but it’s not likely at this stage.

The Undertaker recently spoke to IGN where he read off some fan comments. One question pertained to whether a match against Sting is possible. The Undertaker admitted that he gets that question a lot, but then he had to say that it looks way better on paper than it ever would have been in real life.

“You know, I get that a lot. Sting stayed down in WCW for so long and then you know, he went somewhere else and that window kind of closed and I know he kind of showed up at the end. The way people see that, it looks much better on paper than it actually would’ve been. It’s one of those matches that people will talk about forever.”

The Undertaker vs Sting would have been great twenty years ago. Now it might not live up to expectations, and the Deadman realizes that fact. If watching Goldberg vs The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia taught us anything it’s that sometimes dream matches are better left in our heads.
