Jerry “The King” Lawler is a WWE Hall Of Famer, but he still hasn’t officially retired from in-ring competition. He’s not working in a WWE ring anymore, but Lawler will still take indie bookings and perform for the people.

Commercial Appeal recently sat down with Jerry “The King” Lawler for a little interview. During their time together, Lawler got comfortable as he spoke about how his body has taken so much abuse throughout his career.

He then revealed that he never worked out a day in his life. He’s also never tasted alcohol of coffee either.

“Your body just gets used to taking that certain specific abuse. I wrestled on such a regular basis for 20 years, probably six or seven nights a week, and every night I would get picked up and body-slammed. And then maybe on your night off you’d go bowling and the next morning wake up and say, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sore.'”

“I never worked out a day in my life. I’ve never in my life even tasted one sip of beer, wine, whisky or any type of alcohol. Or coffee.”

Jerry Lawler has seen people discredit his occupation for his entire life. Whenever someone says that “wrestling is fake,” he has an honest reply that we can imagine shuts most critics up: “For years, people would come to me and say, ‘I don’t watch wrestling, it’s all fake. And I’d say, ‘Oh, do you watch movies?’ ‘Uh, yeah.’ ‘So when Tom Cruise gets shot, he’s really dead, right?'”

We’ll have to see when Jerry Lawler pops up next, but he’s obviously not shy to continue taking bookings whenever he can it it into his busy schedule.
