WWE’s next pay-per-view is Clash of Champions on September 27th. The WWE Title match is currently slated to be Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton in an ambulance match, but those plans can always change.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE is likely going to insert Keith Lee into the WW Title match at Clash of Champions. If Lee can defeat Drew McIntyre on RAW this week in a non-title match then he’s in the match.

The thinking is that Randy Orton will have something to do with Keith Lee defeating McIntyre. If Lee is inserted into the Clash of Champions title match then that could make a lot of sense.

It seems that WWE is setting Drew McIntyre up to lose the WWE Title. A triple threat match gives a huge chance for the champion to drop their title and not take a pinfall. Since the match at Clash of Champions is still an ambulance match that gives an even greater chance for a finish with plenty of shenanigans.

We’ll have to see how WWE books this situation. They do have plenty of options, but it seems that they are headed a very specific direction right now.
