The Undertaker has been a part of many dream matches throughout his career. He never locked up with Sting, and that is a match many fans would love to see. It turns out that they never even talked about it.

While speaking to Barstool Sports, The Undertaker revealed that they never spoke about having a match against Sting prior to the Stinger’s 2014 WWE debut. He chalked it up to being a match that will forever fit in the “what could have been” category in pro wrestling history.

“Not even once. I knew him from my days in WCW in the the late 80s but I never actually saw him again until he joined WWE.”

“Its crazy that we never spoke. We never called each other and discussed, ‘hey would you like to do this mega match’ or whatever. My schedule was always full, there were always guys waiting to face me.”

“Maybe it will remain something like a ‘what could have been’ situation, kind of like what would have happened if Ali and Tyson faced off? Our audience always wanted to see it but its just one of those things,” he added, while referring to The Rock vs. Shawn Michaels as another such dream match that took place.”

Sting and WWE parted ways after his contract expired. The Undertaker signed deal that will keep him employed for decades to come. It might have been fun to see The Undertaker vs Sting, but some matches are probably best left to our imaginations.
