The world was turned upside down when the coronavirus swept the planet. This was especially evident in the pro wrestling world. James Storm’s contract with the NWA expired during that time, but it wasn’t noticed since NWA Powerrr ceased production as well.

AEW and the NWA seem to have a working relationship now that brought Thunder Rosa to the company on a handful of occasions. Some fans have also asked about “Cowboy” James Storm arriving as a part of a deal between the two entities.

If James Storm shows up in AEW it will be o his own without any involvement from the National Wrestling Alliance.

According to Fightful, James Storm is a free agent. His contract with the NWA expired on February 1st. He is now free to show up where ever he likes.

It was also reported that there was a provision in James Storm’s contract which allowed him to control his own bookings outside of the NWA. Even if he was still with the NWA he would have been handling his own schedule.
