AJ Styles On Restricting His Own Moves In WWE

AJ Styles has a wide variety of moves that he can do in the ring, but he doesn’t pull out every weapon in his arsenal every time. One move has been tucked away for a while because he’s afraid of that might happen if it goes wrong.

Styles has wrestled all over the world. He dazzled crowds with his Phenomenal offense. He just doesn’t fly off the top rope like he used to, especially when executing a shooting star press.

While speaking on his Twitch stream, AJ Styles revealed that he would like to bring back the shooting star press, but he’s just “not the young cat” he used to be.

“One move I’d like to bring back is the Shooting Styles Press,” Styles said. “I’m just afraid I’d hurt myself doing it; I’m not a young cat anymore. Same deal with the Spiral Tap – I’m getting too old to be pulling that stuff. I’d probably hurt myself trying that one.”

AJ Styles could always bring back the shooting star press in a big match situation, but it’s not the kind of move you want to mess up, especially on a big stage. Names like Brock Lesnar and most recently Matt Sydal have botched that same move with a big spotlight on them and it’s incredibly hard to live that down. Perhaps it’s best for AJ Styles to stick with something a bit safer at this stage in his career.
