Dominik Mysterio Felt Accepted In WWE After Brutal Kendo Stick Attack

Dominik Mysterio’s journey through WWE started off with a bang as he was thrust into a top feud against Seth Rollins. Dominik rose to the occasion and took a brutal kendo stick beating in the process.

During WWE The Day SummerSlam 2020, they took a deep dive into Dominik Mysterio’s feud with Seth Rollins. This also included addressing that brutal kendo stick beating on RAW that left Dominik Mysterio a welted mess.

Dominik’s mother hated seeing that segment. She said it was “too much” for her. Rey Mysterio has witnessed brutal pro wrestling spots before, and he had a bit more understanding. He was excited about how well the segment came off.

Rey Mysterio said that he had the impression that Dominik wanted to take those kendo stick shots. It was a sign for Dominik that: “I’m here with the big boys, I’m accepted, and I took a whooping for it.”

Mysterio was proud of his son, and he understood why Dominik wore those bloody kendo stick welts like badge of honor. It was still pretty difficult to watch as a parent even if he was proud. You can check out the clip below.
