Adam Cole Says ‘It’s Disgusting’ That Pat McAfee Thinks He Belongs In WWE NXT

WWE booked an interesting match for NXT TakeOver: XXX. Pat McAfee will step in the ring to face Adam Cole. The match isn’t for any title, but a lot more will be on the line as McAfee fights to prove he belongs in the ring.

McAfee cut an insanely good promo on Adam Cole on NXT this week. You can check it out below. He told a story about being on another level above Cole. McAfee is a world-class athlete, but he’s not a pro wrestler.

While speaking to WWE The Bump, Adam Cole brought up how Pat McAfee jumped in the ring with the NXT Superstars when they invaded SmackDown. NXT was needed to fill in when the main roster Superstars were stuck in Saudi Arabia. This didn’t give McAfee an excuse to step his foot in the ring according to Mr. Bay-Bay.

“In that moment I didn’t even think about Pat being in there, but about a week later I watched that close [of SmackDown] with Triple H in there and all of us in there. I remember seeing Pat in that ring and it making me sick to my stomach. Like, once again here’s a guy who has done absolutely nothing to help the growth, the advancement, the invasion for NXT for that monthly build toward Survivor Series. He’s standing in there like he belongs. If you watch it he’s standing there like he belongs to be in there like he owns the freaking ring.”

“It’s disgusting and he’s always been this way. From the very beginning he’s walked into NXT whether he’s doing commentary whether he’s commentating on SmackDown it doesn’t matter whether he is standing in the ring with NXT talent the ones who are the driving force responsible for NXT he’s standing there like he belongs and he does not belong. He doesn’t belong at all and I’m gonna prove that once again at TakeOver XXX.”

Triple H said that Pat McAfee’s match at NXT TakeOver: XXX won’t be one-off. This will be a chance for him to live out his dream, but the former NFL punter is taking things seriously.
