Chris Jericho is paying attention to the entire pro wrestling world. He sees that WWE has a lot of titles and he’s not afraid to say that they have too many floating around. AEW is not exempt from his criticism.

During Jericho’s most recent Saturday Night’s Special, he brought up title belts. He discussed how they should be used and how too many of them “muddles down wrestling companies.”

Jericho brought up how there is a set of titles on RAW and SmackDown within WWE. There are also mid-card titles for each show. That’s just “too many titles” as he sees it. Then Jericho turned his attention toward AEW and how they even have the FTW Tile which is “meaningless” in his opinion.

“So I like the fact that in AEW we have the World Title and now we have the TNT Title and then we have a Women’s Title and Tag Team Titles for guys. I think it should stay there. If you want to do Women’s Tag Team Titles, that’s fine. We need to expand the division a bit but other than that, we don’t need any more titles. The FTW Title even is too much. It doesn’t mean anything. Who cares? That’s just me, but maybe some people care. It seems to me it’s not even a real title. So, anyway, you don’t want to muddle it down too much.”

The FTW Title was never officially recognized by ECW, WWE, or even AEW. The title is on television and Brian Cage is featured with the title in promo shots. This is an interesting direction, but Jericho might suggest that they skip it.
