Kenny Omega entered AEW as some were thinking WWE might have snagged The Cleaner. Omega is an EVP of AEW and has a lot more on his plate than every before. This caused him to wrestle a bit differently in AEW, but Konnan sees him as a failure in the United States.

During Keepin It 100 with Konnan, the former LAX leader brought up Kenny Omega. He stated that Omega was popular in Japan and Mexico, but he just can’t find that same success in the USA.

“While Omega got majorly over in Mexico and Japan, he has failed on American television because his promos aren’t on the level of other top guys. Also, he has not been pushed as a star, but just another guy who can work. There are 18 other guys who know how to work, Omega doesn’t stand out in any way.”

Disco Inferno also chimed in and he had a lot to say about Kenny Omega as well. Inferno also took a shot at the Cleaner’s promo abilities and how things are different from being on the indies and a weekly television program.

“If you are an independent wrestler, or wrestling in Japan, it is night and day to transition to weekly American TV. As opposed to just having matches, you have to deliver on promos, sell facial expressions, and build up a lot of skills on a weekly basis,” added Disco Inferno, the former WCW TV Champion.”

“Omega doesn’t cut a good promo,” Disco Inferno stated. “This is why it has become difficult for him to elevate himself to the level of Jericho and Moxley because his mic skills are not close to those guys. Also, he doesn’t understand the psychology of what you have to do in the ring and mic on American TV.”

Kenny Omega has a big hand in the AEW Women’s Division. The stress of holding an executive position in AEW is also a lot extra than he dealt with as even IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

If you ask Konnan and Disco Inferno, they’re just not impressed with what Kenny Omega has been able to do so far in AEW. Do you disagree with him? Sound off in the comments below.
