Paco Alonso was the owner of CMLL, but he passed away on July 6, 2019. A year following his death, Chris Jericho is happy to honor his memory.

Chris Jericho released heartfelt video for Paco Alonso after his passing. Paco was one of the first promoters who gave Jericho a shot in a main event. Y2J’s tear-filled message was impossible to watch without getting choked up, even if you never knew Alonso.

Jericho appeared in dedication for Alonso that CMLL posted. You can check it out below. Chris Jericho commented on the video while calling Paco one of the best bosses he ever had.

Here are my memories of #PacoAlonso, one of the best bosses I’ve ever had!

Alonso was the grandson of CMLL founder Salvador Lutteroth. He took control of the company in 1987. CMLL boasts itself as the oldest pro wrestling company in operation.

Chris Jericho’s career wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t for Paco Alonso. That’s for sure.
