Cody Rhodes never got to mix it up with Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson when they were The Revival in WWE. Things are changing now with FTR in AEW.
The Top Guys made their debut on AEW Dynamite and the tag team division immediately took notice. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are set to make a big name for themselves in All Elite Wrestling even if they are only on a handshake deal.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Cody Rhodes opened up about FTR. He stated that they are teaching younger talent as some don’t even know what a tag rope is for. There are apparently teams lining up to face them as well. In the end, Cody is “in love” with them as a team.
“FTR went out there with all the modern, high-tech stuff, but they also had a fundamental, tag team match where they’re holding the freaking tag ropes. There are guys being trained today who don’t even know the purpose of the tag rope. So I look at somebody like that and they lead by example, and the reason I think they lead by example is because they’re so good [that] other people on the roster want to have that match. Other people on the roster want to wrestle those guys. I have been over the moon in love in terms of that tag team, FTR, and what they represent. I had just a slight knowledge.”
FTR will wrestle during night two of Fyter Fest. They will team with The Young Bucks to take on The Lucha Bros and The Butcher & The Blade. That 8-man tag team match could be chaotic, but it also might be the kind of barnburner match that AEW can use as a benchmark for some time to come.
How long do you think FTR will be in AEW before they capture the AEW World Tag Team Titles? Sound off in the comments below!
