Indie wrestling is returning slowly, but surely. A new event was just announced for Saturday, August 22nd in Des Moines, Iowa focused around a very prominent social issue.

A “Black Wrestlers Matter” event has been announced. This will also be a fundraiser for the Knowledge Is Power GoFundMe campaign. The event promises to be “a celebration of black professional wrestling.”

Jon West started Black Wrestlers Matter in 2015 and he is organizing this event. Names advertised for the show include Faye Jackson, Air Wolfe, Brooke Valentine, Jah-C, and others. There will also be a Black Wrestlers Matter battle royal scheduled for the show.

The Black Wrestlers Matter event will stream online . A limited number of tickets will be sold for the event due to COVID-19 regulations.
