Owen Hart died tragically in 1999, but he left an impression on the pro wrestling world. He was also a friend of The Ultimate Warrior.

The Ultimate Warrior was a controversial figure, but Owen Hart was his friend. During Grilling JR, Jim Ross revealed why Owen Hart was friends with the Ultimate Warrior. Owen liked everyone and he noticed that Warrior was “struggling.” This encouraged Hart to reach out because he saw the business that Ultimate Warrior had the potential to do.

“Owen liked everybody, Owen could also see when somebody was struggling. Owen was willing to help anybody and he saw that Warrior had potential and could draw everybody money. Owen was trying to be a great teammate and help this guy be better accepted by his peers.”

Whether Owen Hart was successful in winning the locker room over to Ultimate Warrior’s side is another story. The point is that he tried.

Jim Ross recently went on a bit of a tirade about how much of a pain in the ass Ultimate Warrior was. Owen Hart had a different opinion of Warrior as the two were close friends.

You can check out a 1996 promo that Ultimate Warrior cut on Owen Hart below. It is quite a blast from the past.
