AEW Star Reveals What It Was Like Training Matt Riddle To Become Pro Wrestler

Matt Riddle entered the pro wrestling world after career in MMA. He was used to sparring hard and getting punched in the face on a regular basis already. Pro wrestling seemed like the perfect fit.

AEW star QT Marshall was one of Matt Riddle’s first pro wrestling trainers. The King Of Bros had a lot to learn, but he apparently picked things up very quickly

As Marshall spoke to Wrestling Inc, he called Matt Riddle a “prodigy.” Riddle was already a fan of pro wrestling which made things much easier as well. There were “knuckleheadish” moments, but Matt Riddle obviously excelled in his training.

“He was a prodigy because he was a giant fan of pro wrestling which helps. He also wasn’t getting smashed in the face like he was in UFC so he was really easy to coach. He was a little knuckleheadish with some of the stuff he did back then but he’s a good kid.”

Matt Riddle debuted on WWE Friday Night SmackDown last week. He defeated AJ Styles in a non-title match during that debut.

We will have to see what WWE does with Matt Riddle next, especially following his name coming up as part of the #SpeakingOut movement.
