On this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, Rob Gronkowski lost his 24×7 Championship to R-Truth and it looks like that was a way of writing him off TV.

Just two months after his WWE debut, Rob Gronkowski has been released by WWE – according to WrestlingInc. The report also suggests that Gronk had a release clause in his contract with WWE and he made use of it to part ways with the company.

Gronkowski came out of his football retirement earlier in April and was traded to Tampa Bay Buccanneers for the upcoming NFL season. This is the primary reason for his departure from the company, according to the report.

Moreover, the report states that while Gronkowski could still make appearances for the company every now and then, he won’t be participating in any matches any time soon.

Some reports suggested that the company had big plans for Gronk at SummerSlam however, it looks like we won’t be seeing those come to fruition.
