WWE doesn’t always give everyone the same shot to get over. Vince McMahon will sometimes change his mind multiple times about a Superstar’s push. Apollo Crews knows all about McMahon stopping and starting a push.

Apollo Crew recently spoke to metro.co.uk about his position in WWE. There was some frustrations along the way, but all that hard work is seemingly paying off for him now. He continued to look toward his next step and now he is doing it as WWE U.S Champion.

“I’m always thinking, what can we do to take the next step? Or how can I connect with the fans better? Because they haven’t got to see me in certain situations. All they’ve known with me is this guy who smiles, who does cool flips and he’s strong. So for me now, it’s like, how can I connect with the fans? I’m trying to think on a different level from this guy who does cool stuff. As dope as that is, it’s hard to relate to.’

“On one side, I lost my motivation, but on the second, I know my worth. I know how good I am. I know if I stick to my beliefs, my discipline, and just go out there and grind, it has to be noticed. It has to pay off!”

We will have to see how long WWE keeps that U.S. Title on Apollo Crews. He has a ton of potential, but was never able to make it to that next step until recently. Now that he has his first singles title in WWE he might be able to use that as a springboard to bigger and better things.
