Former WWE Referee Billy Caputo Passes Away

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Billy Caputo.

He was 72 years old and was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma of the bone marrow in 2019. He was living in hospice where he was since last year.

Caputo was a WWE referee and also a New York State Athletic Commissioner. He started as a referee in 1975 for Vince McMahon Sr. PW Insider has confirmed his passing.

Our thoughts go out to Caputo’s family, friends, and anyone who remembers his contributions to the pro wrestling business.
