Edge and Randy Orton had an epic battle at WrestleMania 36. They had to improvise the entire match without speaking to each other because there were no live fans to mask them calling moves. The two veterans went 36 minutes during the 36th show of shows, but some thought the match went too long.

The Rated R Superstar defended his match against Randy Orton in big way. He returned after 9 years away from WWE and his first singles match was in front of zero fans.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that he heard from those backstage who hated the match. Edge and Orton had to make the most out of a bad situation, but it apparently didn’t click with everyone.

I’d already gotten feedback on it from those internally who hated it more than I did so even in the company at best it was split and the consensus was it was far too long.
