WWE announced big cuts today and up to 40% of their staff lost their jobs. This was a sad day for WWE and a number of staff were let go. There were lay-offs throughout the entire company, but fans will likely only know about those who appear on television of former Superstars who were producing backstage.
Superstars and backstage producers were released along with the rest of the company. At this time 20 on-air talent have been released.
We’re not certain if more are to come. We can probably expect it at this point.

Backstage producers were not released, they were furloughed with the intention of bringing them back when they can. Hopefully, that will be much sooner than later.
