The signing of Jake Hager wasn’t universally praised when it was revealed by All Elite Wrestling, but as time has gone on, he’s certainly improved his stature within the AEW universe.

He may not be a world title contender just yet, but as we look ahead the future, it seems as if it’s only a matter of time before that becomes the case.

After all, he did manage to successfully go after AEW World Champion Jon Moxley on Dynamite this week.

Some may laugh off the idea of an extended feud between these two, but AEW is capable of getting us invested in things we previously thought wouldn’t be worth our time.

Moxley’s reign hasn’t really been able to get off the ground just yet, but that’s largely down to the coronavirus outbreak more than anything else.

Whether or not Hager can shock the world by taking the belt off him remains to be seen.
