Dustin Rhodes suffered a set back at AEW Revolution this past weekend when he was beaten by Jake Hager in his debut match with the promotion.

The fascinating back and forth battle served as proof that Rhodes can still go in the ring, and while he may be edging towards retirement in the eyes of many, it doesn’t appear as if the man himself is ready to hang up the boots just yet.

Dustin has enjoyed something of a career rejuvenation with All Elite Wrestling, starting with his memorable bout against his brother Cody Rhodes last year.

It certainly appears as if there is a creative freedom that Dustin is enjoying right now, which makes a lot of sense when you consider the fact that his brother Cody knows better than anyone what he is capable of.

Rhodes probably isn’t going to be challenging for the AEW World Championship any time soon, but he doesn’t need to do so in order for his time with the promotion to be considered a success.

As AEW continues to thrive in its first full year of regular weekly operations, Dustin is going to play a huge role in the further development of their brand.
