WWE moved SmackDown to FOX and they had a big premiere. Then ratings dwindled to the point where they usually draw half the number that tuned in to watch The Rock in October last year.

FOX has kicked up their advertising for WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Fightful Select reports that WWE and FOX are boosting their advertising because they wanted to get more eyes on the fact that John Cena returned.

Fox/WWE advertising during particular broadcasts was higher than normal last week. Not really shocking that they are doing this, with hoping to get more eyes this Friday because of Cena appearing. Some Fox Affiliates were sent memos stating “ad” changes.

It was noted that some fans might not notice a huge difference. They are still kicking up the advertising for WWE on FOX.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
