Triple H knows a thing or two about the pro wrestling business. He definitely understood that Evolution was going to ruffle some feathers backstage.

During the third episode of WWE’s Ruthless Aggression series, Triple H revealed a conversation that he had with Randy Orton and Batista. He knew that Evolution was going to cause backstage heat for the two younger Superstars. This was something they needed to understand from the get-go.

“Dave, Randy, listen, let me talk to you guys. I pulled them in a room and I said, ‘So you are about to hit the hate button from everybody.’ Every single person in this room, they’re going to tell you, ‘Why man, this is a great opportunity,’ and they’re going to bury you. All of a sudden, everybody you thought was your friend, you’re going to find out they’re not your friends.”

Batista told pretty much the same story as he spoke to the cameras. He said that they were told that they can either be popular or make money. The Animal decided to get in the car with The Game and The Nature Boy. This turned out to be a very wise decision.

“[He said] a lot of guys are gonna hate you for it because they know where this is going. Do you wanna make friends or you wanna make money? You wanna make money, jump in this car. I jumped in the car.”

Evolution haven’t received WWE Hall Of Fame rings as a stable yet. Randy Orton just signed a new WWE contract. It’s very likely that one day all four members of Evolution will be honored with Hall Of Fame rings as a faction. None of that would have happened if Orton and Batista decided that they cared what people thought about them.
