Eddie Guerrero passed away far too soon on November 13, 2005. His official cause of death was atherosclerosis and the pro wrestling world still mourns the terrible loss.

One of the best to ever lace up his boots passed away before anyone expected. He was still in the prime of his career and set for a huge push at the time as well.

While speaking to Talk Is Jericho, Eddie’s wife Vickie Guerrero revealed that she got a call from Latino Heat on the morning that he died. It was 5:30 in the morning so she didn’t pick up. Vickie figured that she would have time to call him later, but that sadly was not the case.

“For some reason, that morning, he just stayed a little longer with us. After the fact when he passed away, we were like, ‘gosh, was this what was going on?’ Another thing to that was that that morning that he passed away, I got a phone call at 5:30 in the morning and it was Eddie, but usually he would just call and wait for me to call him back whenever I would wake up. And for some reason, I heard it and I was like, ‘no, I’ll just call him back later when I wake up.’ And I hate myself every day because if I answered it, I would have heard from him. And that’s something you just never know. You never know what God has in store for you that day.”

Eddie Guerrero is gone, but he will never be forgotten. We can only hope that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of Superstars even though they never got the opportunity to learn from him directly.
