WWE NXT has a lot of plans for 2020. One thing they’re working on right now is the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. A team will be reuniting for that tournament, but fans in Pittsburgh got a very special treat last night.
Alex Shelley will be Kushida’s tag team partner in the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The reunion of The Time Splitters was a big surprise for fans who remember that team fondly.
The Time Splitters opened up the NXT live event in Pittsburgh last night with a match against The Forgotten Sons. Kushida and Shelley won the match after a double team move. They received a great reception from the live crowd.
Shelley was guest coach at the WWE Performance Center not too long ago. WWE using him in this capacity could show that they realize he has more to give than just coaching. Let’s see what’s next for Alex Shelley as a part of WWE, but this is certainly a great sign.
