Welcome to Ringside News’ results for the final Raw of 2019 and yes, the final Raw of the decade. That’s pretty darn strange.

Well WWE has a fittingly dramatic show in store for tonight, as the marquee segment is the lavish wedding between Bobby Lashley and Lana. This Marmite storyline has divided fans for a few months but I personally have enjoyed it; Lana’s incredible overacting is Vickie Guerrero-esque, Lashley is the perfect whipped man, and Rusev is getting over big as a result. It’s fun if nothing else and tonight should be no different.

Elsewhere tonight, in somewhat concerning news, it seems Randy Orton is injured. He was hurt at a house show match this past week, and WWE announced that he would be on Raw tonight to address the situation. Unfortunately that’s rarely good news, so here’s hoping Orton’s injury isn’t career-threatening.

As for the rest of tonight’s card, Aleister Black will go to war with Buddy Murphy once again, and Becky Lynch Tweeted about her contract coming to an end and addressing it on Raw tonight. And that’s really all we know about tonight’s Raw. Andrade beat Rey Mysterio at Madison Square Garden to become the new United States Champion, so we can expect more from him and that hopefully means he and Zelina Vega won’t be splitting ways.

WWE Raw

The final Monday Night Raw of the decade, live from Hartford, Connecticut, opens with Kevin Owens storming his way to the ring.

KO means business tonight and he says he has some fireworks for the new year. And why? Owens directs us to a video on the ‘Tron depicting Seth Rollins’ heel turn, as well as AOP’s beat-down on Samoa Joe last week – who isn’t on commentary tonight. Owens says Seth and the AOP have been running Raw the past few weeks and he knows it better than anyone. KO says he keeps getting beat-up but that’s fine because he’s going to continue calling them out until he takes one of them down.

Owens says what isn’t fine, is that last week Seth and AOP attacked a man he respects more than most; Rey Mysterio. He says they left Rey lying, and that contributed to him losing the US Championship last week at a house show, and we see the footage of Andrade’s win.

Rollins, Akam, and Rezar come out and stand on the stage. Rollins says that what Kevin still fails to see, is that he isn’t the bad guy. He’s ushering in a new era and it has to be done. He says Owens has left him no choice but to enforce his will. Owens wastes no time and runs up the ramp but gets clobbered by AOP. They force him back into the ring and beat him down in the corner as Rollins berates him.

Samoa Joe’s music hits and out comes the bulldozer like a freight train. Joe kicks Akam on the ramp and tosses Rezar into the barricade. The crowd get all riled-up as Rollins motions for Joe to get in the ring and he runs in and attacks him. Joe starts choking Seth but AOP return to beat him down. Owens grabs a chair and starts teeing-off on Akam and Rezar but Seth attacks him. All five men brawl until dozens of security guards come down to separate everyone. They pull Seth from the ring but Owens gets on the top rope and hits a senton onto all of them!

*Commercial Break*

We return to replays of what just went down. Joe and Kevin Owens are sitting backstage. Charly Caruso comes in and asks Joe why he would get involved in this. Joe says he didn’t have a choice; Seth chose for him to be involved. Joe yells that Seth made a choice to never be safe again. He made a choice that Kevin Owens will never be friendless again. Owens gets up and says he’s never known a badder man than Samoa Joe, and he means that in a good way. He wouldn’t have anyone else beside him. Security guards come in and stand behind them. Owens says it seems like every week he’s being escorted from the building, but tonight they’ve accomplished everything they could. So now they have a week to think about what to do next. They turn to leave and Joe flicks his sweat at one of the guards and tells them not to touch him. Owens wishes them a happy new year.

Aleister Black Vs. Buddy Murphy

This highly-anticipated rematch gets underway and Black swings a few kicks, then forces Murphy to the corner. Buddy shoves Black, then takes a headlock. Black shoots him off but gets dropped with a shoulder. Murphy follows-up with a hurricanrana that knocks him from the ring, then considers a suicide dive but turns and sits down like Black as Aleister slid into the ring.

Black swings a kick but Buddy avoids it. Black tosses Murphy from the ring, then does his sit-down to taunt Buddy. Back elbow from Aleister earns a one-count. Snap suplex and float-over pin attempt by Black. Aleister takes a submission but Murphy fights up, only to get dropped with a kick. Black puts Buddy in the corner and delivers a few big punches. Snapmare and a running kick from Black gets another one-count.

Aleister puts Murphy on the apron but gets slammed into the buckles. Buddy climbs up top but Black connects with an incredible step-up knee. Black looks for a superplex but Murphy fights him off and flies over, looks to superkick Black between his legs but gets kicked away. Murphy knocks Black from the top rope to the floor. Both men down as we head to the break.

*Commercial Break*

Back live and both men are on the apron, and Black teep kicks Murphy into the ring post. Murphy crumbles to the floor and Black follows-up with a moonsault from the top rope!

Aleister gets Buddy in the ring and kicks him a few times, hits a knee, then connects with a springboard moonsault for a near-fall. Black grabs Murphy’s leg but gets hit with a few up-kicks, then kicked right through the ropes to the floor. Murphy tries to get up but falls over on his leg. Murphy crawls through the ropes but Black clocks him. Aleister gets on the apron and hits a huge chest kick that drops Murphy.

Black leaps from the ropes but Buddy dodges it, then slams Black into the buckles and pins him with his feet on the top rope…but the referee saw it. Murphy sends Black from the ring, then hits a big tope to the outside. Murphy puts Black in the ring and hits a Meteora for a near-fall. “This is awesome” chant picks-up.

Buddy stomps on Black, then climbs the ropes. Aleister climbs up top with Buddy but gets suplexed off. Murphy hits a sunset flip, rolls through, and hits a powerbomb for a near-fall. Murphy lifts Black up with his foot, mocking him, but Black attacks the leg. Buddy hits a superkick, then both men exchange shots.  Teep from Black sends Murphy into the ropes, and he comes back with a switch knee. Buddy grabs Black but gets caught with a brainbuster and both men are down. The fans give them an ovation.

Black lifts Aleister with his boot and swings for Black Mass but Murphy avoids it, hits the switch knee, then looks for Murphy’s Law but Aleister counters with a roll-up. Murphy kicks-out, both men get up, and Black connects with Black Mass. Alesiter doesn’t go for the cover though, he slowly lifts Buddy with his foot and hits a second Black Mass for the win!

Winner: Aleister Black

We see Seth Rollins backstage with Akam and Rezar. They’re yelling in Arabic, so Seth asks them to involve him. They say they have Seth covered from all angles. He says management has asked them to leave but without him Raw will be cancelled by the next match. Security shows-up and Seth says they won’t be necessary, because they’re leaving voluntarily.

Lana is sitting backstage, getting her hair done. Erick Rowan walks-up and congratulates her, then asks if she just misplaced his invitation, or if she doesn’t like him. He holds up the bird cage and says they don’t care either way, then screams, and walks off.

*Commercial Break*

Erick Rowan, accompanied with the Gobbledygooker, makes his way to the ring.

Erick Rowan Vs. Kip Stevens

The bell rings and Rowan swings a clothesline but, as usual, the jobber ducks it and leaves the ring. Rowan prevents the kid from getting around the ring but, just like last time, the guy goes under the ring and comes out by the cage.

Rowan big boots him, then tosses him into the barricade. Rowan lifts Stevens and slams him face-first into the apron, then throws him into the ring. Rowan checks on the cage before getting in the ring and running into Kip, slamming Kip, then splashing Kip and pins…but stops it himself. Iron Claw Chokeslam wins the match.

Winner: Erick Rowan

Lana is backstage rubbing her entire body in oil and muttering that Rowan is in love with her, just like everyone else. Including herself.

*Commercial Break*

The Queen, Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring. Flair wastes no time, immediately announcing herself as the first entrant for this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match. She says everyone knew she was going to be in the match, so why bother coming out to announce it? She says she could come out here and talk about her many title wins, or that she is quite possibly the best of all-time. But she knows we’re tired hearing that, so she’d rather show us. She extends an open challenge to whoever wants to bow down to the Queen.

*Commercial Break*

Charlotte Flair Vs. Natalya

The match gets underway and both women engage in a lengthy feeling-out process. Charlotte gets put on the apron but dives through the ropes and catches Nattie with a roll-up. Natalya drops Charlotte with a right hand, then runs over her back. Flair punches Natalya, who fires back with a discus clothesline.

Natalya performs a surfboard stretch to Flair. Charlotte escapes a kicks Natalya, then lifts her and slams her into the turnbuckles. Charlotte targets Natalya’s leg and wraps it around the ropes. Natalya avoids a kick and drags Charlotte from the ring to slam her into the steel steps. Nattie drags Flair up the ramp and suplexes her.

Back in the ring, Natalya stomps Charlotte and covers for a one-count. A snap suplex, followed by a kick and some trash talk from Natalya. Charlotte avoids a tackle in the corner and manages to apply a Boston crab on the top rope! Flair lets go at the count of four and Nattie falls to the floor.

R-Truth runs down the ramp with his 24/7 Championship an he’s being chased by Erick Rowan, No Way Jose, Shelton Benjamin, etc. Rowan runs into the ring to try and cut Truth off but Charlotte big boots him! Truth runs through the crowd as we take a break.

*Commercial Break*

Back live and Charlotte has Natalya on the top rope but gets kicked back and hit with a crossbody for a near-fall. Charlotte gets right back on the attack but gets caught with a German suplex. Natalya talks more trash and this time Flair hits her with a T-bone suplex. Natalya catches Charlotte with a sit-out powerbomb for a near-fall.

Charlotte counters the Sharpshooter, but Natalya unloads on her against the ropes. The referee forces her off and Nattie looks for a discus elbow but gets hit with a big boot. Charlotte hits a spear for a near-fall. Flair drags Nattie to the corner and looks for the Figure Four but gets kicked into the buckles. Flair counters Nattie and hits Natural Selection for a near-fall.

Charlotte climbs the ropes for a moonsault, Nattie gets the boot up but Flair grabs it and applies the Figure Eight and Natalya taps.

Winner: Charlotte Flair

Charly Caruso is backstage with Becky Lynch and asks if she has any updates on her match against Asuka at Royal Rumble, and Becky says it’s been made official. She says her contract is running out, and this was her first stipulation. She says she could have one of the biggest contracts in WWE history but money and status can’t help her look in the mirror. She says history needed to know if a woman could be the face of the business, well she did it. And now she needs to know if it’s worth it. She found out that, when you’re the golden goose, you get protected. But she needs to know if she can beat Asuka, and she’ll die trying.

*Commercial Break*

The O.C. make their entrance and grab microphones in the ring. AJ says that two weeks ago they beat The Viking Raiders, and last week they beat Randy Orton and the Raiders, proving that they are the dominant force on Monday Night Raw. The gloat about their big wins over The Viking Raiders, and point to their trophy outside the ring.

The Street Profits interrupt The O.C. and walk to the ring. Ford asks Dawkins if it’s true that they’ve beaten the Raiders three times? He says it is. Ford asks if they just won the biggest tag team turmoil match in WWE history? Dawkins says they did. Then Ford asks what that means, considering they beat The O.C. on their Monday Night Raw debut. Styles says they’re lucky, and they should leave before they get hurt. Dawkins says he would feel threatened but it comes from a team named after a teen soap opera. They begin singing the theme song to The OC. Gallows says this isn’t a high school drama, he tells them to get in the ring so they can kick their ass. Ford and Dawkins happily agree, because they want the smoke.

Street Profits Vs. The O.C. W/AJ Styles

The match gets underway with Karl Anderson and Dawkins. Ford tags in and performs and incredible flip over Anderson before taking him down with an armlock. Ford shoots Anderson into the ropes and connects with a big dropkick. Dawkins tags in and he beats on Anderson, drops him with a shoulder, but then AJ grabs his foot to distract him. The referee caught it and evicts Styles from the match!

*Commercial Break*

Back live and Karl has Montez in a headlock. Ford fights up but can’t make the tag, instead gets whipped into the corner. Neckbreaker from Anderson earns a two-count. Gallows tags in and beats Ford around the ring, hitting a vertical suplex for a two-count. Repeated elbows, followed by a sleeper from Gallows.

Leg drop from Gallows, then right back to the sleeper. Ford fights up but gets kicked back. Gallows knocks Dawkins from the apron, then Ford drops the big man with an enziguiri. Both men make tags and Dawkins drops Anderson with clotheslines. Gallows comes in but he gets slammed into the corner.

Overhead suplex from Dawkins to Anderson, followed by running discus forearms to both men in the corners. Anderson catches Dawkins with a spinebuster, then tags Gallows and knocks Ford from the apron. Double-team neckbreaker/back suplex from The O.C. for a near-fall.

They look for Magic Killer but Ford prevents it and dropkicks Gallows. Ford knocks the big man from the ring and dives onto him. Dawkins hits a one-handed spinebuster on Anderson, tags Ford, and he hits the frog splash for the win!

Winners: Street Profits

We see Lana backstage, checking on the flowers that will be at her wedding later tonight.

*Commercial Break*

Street Profits are backstage, celebrating their big win, and Ford says they must now be the best tag team in the universe. Dawkins says he needs to think bigger and Ford asks how. Dawkins starts explaining the concept of a multiverse, but then just stops and stares into the distance. Ford mentions the big wedding and Dawkins says he doesn’t care about that, he just wants to know where the bridesmaids are. Ford says it’s time to get serious, because they have 20-20 vision and there’s only four words that matter; they want the smoke.

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins come to the ring, followed by their opponent, Drew McIntyre. On his way to the ring, the big man calls himself “the sexy Scotsman”, leans on the barricade and jokes with a fan, then polls the fans of if he should be worried about his opponents. Feels like a babyface turn.

2-On-1 Handicap Match

Drew McIntyre Vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins

Before Drew can get in the ring, he’s attacked by Hawkins and Ryder. Drew slams Zack into the barricade, then swipes Hawkins on the apron. Inside the ring, McIntyre runs into Hawkins in the corner, then hits an overhead suplex, followed by the Claymore Kick. Ryder returns and gets hit with the Future Shock DDT. McIntyre kips-up, stomps around, and puts both men on top of each other and pins them both.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Still to come, Randy Orton discusses his injury and future, and the big wedding.

*Commercial Break*

The Viper, Randy Orton makes his entrance on crutches. He has to be helped into the ring by a WWE official and can barely stand.

The fans chant his name before Orton says “this ain’t ballet”. He says that’s an old saying that means accidents can happen at any time. Randy says it kills him that he needed help to get into the ring here tonight. He says he has seen Champions have to give-up their titles because of injuries. And one man he really respects is Edge, who had to give his entire career.

Randy says he’s rambling. He says last night he screwed-up his leg, heard a pop in his knee and knew it was bad. He says he didn’t know just how bad until he had an MRI done that morning. Orton says he’s going to be out a very long time but there is a chance he won’t back at all. The fans chant Orton’s name but he says he will make it his mission to see someone be RKO’d at WrestleMania.

AJ Styles comes out and interrupts Orton. He asks if the next time he gets to face Orton will maybe be at WrestleMania? Orton says this isn’t the time or place without a mic, and AJ says it definitely is. Styles mocks Orton, saying he looks mad but he definitely can’t strike. AJ taunts Randy and says there’s not a damn thing he can do. Styles puts both hands behind his back and begs Orton to hit him. Randy does nothing, so Styles believes he’s hurt. He says he’s a patient man, so he’ll wait until WrestleMania before he puts that knee in the Calf Crusher and retires him. AJ turns to leave, but kicks one of Randy’s crutches.

Orton stops Styles from leaving and asks if he knows what the big difference between them is. He says AJ might be patient, but he’s not. Orton then RKO’s AJ! Orton stomps the ground, proving he’s not injured at all, then poses on the ropes and laughs.

We see a replay of Andrade beating Rey Mysterio at Madison Square Garden this past week. Rey cut a promo backstage after the match and said Andrade was the better man, but his attention is split with the likes of Seth and the AOP. he promises that, at the end of everything, he’ll be standing tall.

The United States Champion, Andrade comes to the ring with Zelina Vega.

*Commercial Break*

Andrade W/Zelina vega Vs. Unnamed Jobber

Andrade immediately attacks the unknown dude with a bald head, and takes him down. Andrade stomps him in the corner before hitting double knees. Andrade sets up for a Hammerlock DDT, but Vega points to the floor and yells at him.

Vega starts pulling the floor padding up, and Andrade throws the man out of the ring. Andrade chops the chest and sets up for a Hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete floor, but out comes Ricochet to make the save and end the match.

No Contest

Ricochet says it’s not going to go down like that tonight. He reminds everyone that Andrade attacked Humberto, then attacked Rey Mysterio. Well if he wants a fight, he can fight the one and only.

*Commercial Break*

Andrade W/Zelina Vega Vs. Ricochet

The bell rings and Ricochet takes the fight to Andrade. Ricochet goes for a springboard clothesline, but Andrade dropkicks him out of mid-air for a two-count. Vega pulls the mat back again, while Andrade drops Ricochet with a quick back elbow. Andrade takes Ricochet down and poses to the boos of the fans.

Andrade applies a double arm stretch and holds the one and only down, but Ricochet fights out and rolls him up for a two-count. Andrade takes Ricochet down, then looks for a suplex but Ricochet fights out and hits a hurricanrana that sends him out of the ring. Ricochet then hits a twisting moonsault tope to the outside, but hits the barricade ribs-first in the process. Ricochet gets him in the ring and grabs his ribs in pain.

Andrade rolls out of the ring, so Ricochet follows him out. Andrade shoves Ricochet into the barricade before slamming him into the LED apron. Andrade goes for a Hammerlock DDT on the exposed floor, but Ricochet fights it. Andrade then hits a back body drop on the exposed floor as we head to the break.

*Commercial Break*

We come back from the break to see Andrade holding Ricochet down with a rear chin-lock. Ricochet fights up and hits a backflip dropkick. Ricochet starts to build a head of steam but Andrade catches him with a sharp back elbow.

Ricochet floors Andrade with a dropkick, then takes to the top rope but Vega gets on the apron and pushes him off – hurting his already injured ribs. Andrade connects with a Hammerlock DDT for the win.

Winner: Andrade

This is it, the big wedding is up next!

*Commercial Break*

We return to see Andrade and Vega backstage, gloating. They’re stopped and asked about the match next week against Rey Mysterio. Vega says that everyone wants a piece of the US Champion, but look where that got Humberto Carrillo. And Ricochet found out tonight what happens. Well next week, Rey Mysterio finds out first hand.

The first Raw of 2020, next week, will feature Brock Lesnar, as well as the United States Championship match, and a Triple Threat Tag Team Championship match!

We go live to the ring, with an officiate, and all the trimmings for the wedding. The officiate introduces The Almighty Bobby Lashley, followed by his ravishing bride-to-be, Lana. The happy couple will be paired in matrimony after the break.

*Commercial Break*

The wedding ceremony gets underway but Lana doesn’t like what the officiate says, so she yells at him. The fans chant for Rusev and she screams that it isn’t about him. The officiate continues on before allowing them to express their personal vows.

Lana again yells at the fans to stay quiet because this is her day and it’s all about her. She says this is the luckiest day of Bobby’s life because he’s marrying the greatest woman and WWE Superstar there has ever been. Lana chants “Lana Day”. She says we’re just 24 hours away from a brand new decade and all of Lashley’s life has led to this moment. This is his apex. She says she just wants to jump on him and make love right now, so she jumps on him and kisses him.

The officiate asks Lashley to read his vows and Lana says she worked so hard, on the vows he now will read her. Bobby’s vows say he is the luckiest man on the planet, and not because he’s about to marry the most successful Superstar in WWE history, and an incomparable woman. The fans chant “What?” but Lana says the question should be “who?”, and that is her. Lashley reads similar vows to what she said about this being the greatest moment of his life. It’s time to do the rings, and the officiate reminds them of their purpose and meaning.

Lashley repeats the vows of the officiate and places the ring on Lana’s finger. She hurries him along. It’s Lana’s turn now and she says Bobby has promised her everything she has ever wanted. And life is all about her. The officiate says this is the part he dreads; if there is anyone who has just cause for why they should not be married, they should speak now.

A random guy walks out in a suit and objects. He says this whole wedding is a sham and cannot go on. He gets in the ring and says he is actually Lana’s first husband! He says he and Lana got married when she turned 18, then she left him when she met Rusev. Lana tells him to leave but the guy says Lana left Rusev for “this son-of-a-bitch” and points to Lashley. He finishes by saying she’ll do the same to Lashley when something better comes along, so Lashley hits a one-handed spinebuster.

The officiate gets things back on track and asks if there are any further objections, and out comes a random woman. She claims to be Bobby Lashley’s first wife! The fans chant “Jerry!”, and she says she met Bobby in the military. Lana decks her on the apron and they get back to the apron. The officiate asks once more if there is any objections…and this time it’s Liv Morgan who comes out and objects!

Liv says she wouldn’t have made it through this year if it wasn’t for their love. She came to the WWE a lost soul, a wild child, ending her teen years hoping her dreams would come true. But she never knew who she was until she fell in love with “you”. She comes to the ring and asks “how could you do this to me?” Lashley says he never met her in his life. Liv says she isn’t talking about Lashley! Morgan yells that she meant Lana and asks why she’s doing all of this. Lana starts to cry as the fans chant “Yes!”

Lana attacks Liv, knocking her into the corner. The two women brawl around the ring, with Lana rather exposed underneath. Lashley and the officiate just watch on until referees separate them. Officials pull Liv from the ring. Then Lana instructs the officiate to finish the wedding. He asks them both if they agree and they do, just as he is about to make it official, the top pops off the wedding cake and Rusev is inside. Rusev attacks Lashley, beating him in the corner and punching him down as the fans chant. Liv Morgan returns and shoves Lana’s face in the wedding cake.

And that’s it for Raw. I can’t say I saw that coming. What an odd, yet entertaining end to the show. See you back here tomorrow for more wrestling news!
