The official main event of AEW Full Gear saw Cody Rhodes fail to capture the AEW World Title from Chris Jericho. This went down after MJF threw in the towel for Cody and then Maxwell Jacob Friedman turned on his best friend.

This match included pretty scary spot where Cody took a dive right onto the ramp and busted himself open badly. The bleeding was stopped, but there was still a huge gash on The American Nightmare’s head.

AEW provided a medical update on their Executive Vice President following Full Gear. It took eight stitches to close up the wound and he is not cleared for action at this time.

AEW didn’t tell us that Cody Rhodes’ mother helped stitch him up backstage, but that’s what happened. It was a pretty bad laceration, but it could have been worse. He might not be cleared for action right now, but you can probably bet that Cody will be back in action as soon as he can.
