Mia Yim might be the HBIC of NXT, but she had to go through a lot to get there. She has a bit of a troubled past, but she was able to survive it all and is so much stronger because of it.

Yim is using her platform as an NXT Superstar to encourage others and empower people who are in situations like she once was. Still, some people don’t believe she is a domestic abuse survivor at all. Mia Yim had plenty to say about those people who think she’s just looking for attention.

Coming out as a domestic abuse survivor was scary, but I’ve since accomplished my dream of joining @WWE. Some called me a liar or attention seeker. I wasn’t. I was getting my power back after feeling so small. To all survivors: I see you. Share your story w/ #IamCredible. @nylag

Mia Yim is in a very happy relationship with Keith Lee so things are much better for her now. She still wants to be a voice for those who dealt with awful circumstances. So, she’s not going to let people belittle her experience to keep her from continuing as an inspiration for others.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
