Jake Hager was a big surprise during the debut episode of AEW Dynamite, but he hasn’t wrestled yet.

Hager has gotten physical, but he has’t taken a bump or worked a match. There is a reason for this because he has a Bellator fight on October 25th at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Jake Hager agreed not to wrestle for AEW until his next fight is over. He is facing Anthony Garrett who actually has the size advantage over Hager.

Since Jake Hager’s character in AEW is based largely on his MMA career he is focusing on his next fight. He has hit a move or two and shoved Darby Allin off the top rope, but wrestling an actual match isn’t worth the risk.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
