Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt battled at Hell In A Cell, but the finish was nothing that the fans wanted at all.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that Vince McMahon knew the entire time that he wasn’t putting the title on Bray Wyatt and he wasn’t beating him this early either.

The original idea that Vince McMahon had for this controversial match had nothing to do with a sledgehammer. It’s unclear why they went in a different direction, but the first idea was to apparently toss Bray Wyatt off of the Hell In A Cell structure.

The original idea for the finish was that Wyatt would take a gimmicked bump off the top of the cage and be unable to continue and the match would be stopped. Then, after it was stopped, he would pop up like Undertaker and take Rollins out with the mandible claw.

Of course, WWE decided against hurling The Fiend off the the Cell. Instead, the referee called off the match. That won’t stop some fans from wishing that Vince McMahon would have went with his first idea.
