CM Punk knows a lot about the inner workings of the pro wrestling business. He has also heard people bring up the idea of having a pro wrestling union many times. This is not a new idea, but it hasn’t happened yet.

While speaking to Collider Live, CM Punk dismissed the idea of there ever being a pro wrestling union because there’s no such thing as “the boys.” They might like to present a unified front to outsiders, but “it’s insane” how cutthroat the pro wrestling business can be without being a “real” sport.

“No, that’s why my stance when people are all like, ‘Oh, the boys! The boys!’ There’s no such thing, there’s absolutely no such thing.”

“And if you think there is, then chances are you’re on a different level and I don’t mean a higher one. And I don’t mean any disrespect, it’s just where I was at that time, it’s insane how it’s not a ‘real’ sport but it’s more cutthroat than a real sport.”

You never know if a pro wrestling union could happen sooner or later, but it would take a huge collaborative effort. In a business where so many people are only out to benefit themselves it might be difficult to get everyone to come aboard on a concept such as this.
