NXT’s move to Wednesday Nights on the USA Network is getting some big coverage as another weekly WWE-owned show hits cable television.

Yahoo Sports recently spoke to Triple H where he talked in great depth about NXT’s move to the USA Network. This was a long term goal that is finally being realized. Now NXT will be on a much larger channel.

When the subject of competition was brought up, Triple H said they are going to continue putting out the best show that they possibly can. In the meantime, the real winners will be the fans who get to enjoy it all as they continue to raise the bar.

“For me, it’s about putting on the best show we possibly can whether we had competition or not. The winner, I think, is fans. Competition brings out the best in people and I think that’s what will happen here. For me, the competition is with ourselves — to constantly raise the bar, to be something better — and I don’t just mean in-ring, I mean for the business in general, to be leaders. It’s something I challenge everyone at the Performance Center to do every day, create the business the way we want it to be. When we say we are the future, that’s what we mean.”

To him, WWE created their own alternative through his work with NXT. Triple H continued talking about how an “alternative” already existed and it’s NXT.

“If you talk about the upstart, what they’re going out and saying is that they’re an alternative. We were that alternative five years ago. We opened the door for being an alternative, we opened the door to show people that it can be done on a bigger level and on a different basis. As far as being the alternative, great, go put on the best show you can put out, and we’ll put out the best one we can put out.”

We really can’t wait for the October 2nd ratings to come in, because like it or not, ratings so matter. Fans will pick a side and others will float back and forth. Things will get very busy here at Ringside News, but everyone wins in the end. Soon there will be two alternatives to WWE on at the same time every Wednesday night.
