While there may be 16 individuals in with a chance of winning the 2019 King of the Ring Tournament, very few have been on as much of a rollercoaster ride in WWE than Sami Zayn.

The former babyface underdog turned dastardly heel has quickly become one of the most intriguing characters on the main roster since returning from injury, and we can’t see that changing anytime soon.

As he prepares to enter the KOTR and go after one of the biggest accolades of his career thus far, Sami took the time to warn the other 15 competitors and assure them that he isn’t playing around.

One aspect of King of the Ring that a lot of fans tend to focus on is the king gimmick itself, with every past winner deciding to take the title incredibly literally. While we can understand why, that doesn’t always need to happen.

Case in point: if Sami does end up winning the King of the Ring Tournament, we can’t imagine a world where he has a crown and a cape and goes around parading himself to be King Sami. Then again, stranger things have certainly happened in WWE.

Zayn’s road to the final at Clash of Champions is going to be a tricky one, with his first round match being set to take place against Cedric Alexander who is riding a big wave of momentum lately on the main roster.

If he wins then he’ll progress to the quarter-finals where he’ll take on either Baron Corbin or The Miz.
