WWE is always looking to establish new relationships with companies that cultivate talent. They are going to be featuring a few of those companies on the WWE Network soon enough, but they haven’t historically had a relationship with CMLL until now.

CMLL recently had an awful tragedy as owner Paco Alonso passed away a few weeks ago. This was very sad news and Chris Jericho openly cried about the passing of a man who gave him one of his first shots in pro wrestling to be “the guy.”

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that with Paco’s widow in control of CMLL, WWE has opened up talks with the popular Mexican promotion.

With Sofia Alonso taking over control of CMLL after Paco Alonso passed away, WWE has had talks with the promotion.

We will have to wait and see what kind of relationship WWE and CMLL might be able to establish, but it could be very interesting from this point on.

Triple H recently said that they want to start a Latin American version of NXT so this could open the door for that to happen. If anything, CMLL has a lot of talented wrestlers which could include a breakout star that WWE has been looking for to capture the interest of Hispanic fans.
