AEW will be premiering on TNT starting on October 2nd, but they won’t have a World Title defense during that introductory show. Now we know when they plan on defending their title for the first time on national television.

The company revealed today that the first defense of the AEW World Title on TNT will take place on October 16th in Philadelphia.

Who will be competing in the match was not confirmed because we don’t even have a champion yet. Adam “Hangman” Page will battle Chris Jericho at AEW All Out on August 31st where the winner will be crowned AEW World Champion.

It will be interesting to see who the first challenger might be, but at least we know either Jericho or Page will be competing on AEW’s third TNT show. We will let you know as soon as anything else breaks regarding AEW right here at Ringside News.
