Vince McMahon waltzed into SmackDown Live this week and he demanded a total re-write for the show. When he was done hacking away at the script they actually only had an hour of programming.

However, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon left one segment intact. Because his son Shane McMahon is in an angle with Kevin Owens so he left that one alone.

“The Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon stuff has pretty much not been changed. So they did their in-ring and that was fine.”

We’ll just have to wait and see whether Kevin Owens loses at Summerslam and has to “quit” the company. Given Shane McMahon’s track record with pay-per-view matches it’s likely he will win and then something will need to be figured out as an unemployed KO keeps showing up.

This could be entertaining, but it would be nice if more than one storyline at a time could get some special focus on each brand. This is especially true considering the irony of the fact that Shane McMahon is seemingly getting special treatment which is the point that Kevin Owens is fighting against.
