WWE Raw Results – August 5, 2019

Back live and we get a commercial for NXT TakeOver Toronto, taking place this Saturday night.

The WWE Universal Champion, The Beast, Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman. According to the announcers, and Seth Rollins’ Twitter, Seth is going to be here tonight.

Heyman introduces himself and Brock Lesnar. Heyman says his client has authorised him and instructed him to educate all of us. He asks “wasn’t Seth Rollins supposed to be the Beast-Slater?”, “wasn’t he supposed to be the one man who had Brock Lesnar’s number?”, “wasn’t he supposed to be The Architect of the arson that would burn down Suplex City?”, “isn’t he supposed to be the big hero for the new generation of the WWE Universe?”, “isn’t he supposed to be Seth Freakin’ Rollins?” He says that is not the case, and points us to a video of last week’s beat-down.

We come back from the video and Lesnar is laughing. Heyman says he dropped to his knees and begged Lesnar to show mercy to Rollins since he knows WWE needs a new hero. He says what Lesnar did was borderline criminal. Heyman knows some inside information. Seth Rollins is here in Pittsburgh tonight. The crowd cheers. Heyman says he doesn’t know why they would cheer a man who has more balls than brains.

Seth Rollins’ music hits, and he limps out to the stage with a steel chair in his hand. Rollins slowly gets to ringside and pulls himself up the steps and into the ring. Rollins tries to charge Lesnar, but Lesnar kicks him in the injured ribs. Lesnar steps on the steel chair and kicks him in the face. Lesnar drives the steel chair into Rollins’ ribs before smashing it on his back. Lesnar stands over Seth and talks some trash, then picks him up and rams him into the corner. Lesnar picks him up and slams him into the corner once again. Lesnar waits for Rollins to get up, then just shoves him across the ring. Heyman asks, “What the hell is wrong with you?” Lesnar again hits him in the ribs. Lesnar finishes things off with an F5. Lesnar poses with the WWE Universal Championship standing over Rollins.

We come back from the break and see a video of Lesnar hitting Rollins with another F5 as officials come down with a stretcher.

Rollins grabs a microphone as he pulls himself up using the ropes. Rollins says it’s gotten to the point where he has to ask himself if all this is worth it. Rollins says you love something so much that you’d do anything to protect it and make it safe, even if the thing you love keeps you getting beat to a pulp inside and out week after week after week. For Rollins, the answer is yes. The crowd aren’t very interested in this promo. He says this is all he is. Every second of every day, this is all he ever wanted. Rollins says this is all he’s got. Rollins promises that he’ll be at SummerSlam, and he’ll beat Brock Lesnar. Rollins falls out of the ring and pulls himself up. The referees are trying to get him to get checked out. Rollins says he won’t be getting on a stretcher. Rollins walks off to polite applause.

Charly Caruso is backstage with WWE Hall of Famer and Pittsburgh’s own Kurt Angle, who gets a big pop. Angle says it feels great to be back in Pittsburgh. NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits walk up to him and introduce themselves. They promote NXT TakeOver: Toronto streaming live on Saturday and SummerSlam streaming live on Sunday. Their game plan of intensity, integrity, and intelligence has made them thirsty. They Montes Ford beatboxes Angle’s theme song. They take out some red solo cups and a box of milk, and Angle says he promised his wife he wouldn’t do anything crazy. That was funny. Angelo Dawkins asks if he’s Kurt Angle or Mike Kanellis. Angle then agrees to have some milk. They go for a toast, but Drew McIntyre cuts them off. McIntyre says he comes in peace. McIntyre reminds Angle what happened last time they were in the ring together. McIntyre warns him to call his match with Cedric Alexander down the line. McIntyre says he made Angle tap out to his own move. If he screws him, he’ll break his skull. Drew walks off.

The Viking Raiders make their entrance to face two sorry jobbers.

The Viking Raiders vs. Jay Alexander & Eric Abraham

Ivar starts off and quickly delivers a knee to Jay Alexander before connecting with a forearm to knock the other off the apron. Ivar tags Erik and he knees the Jay and drops him.
