WWE recently had to cancel all of the SmackDown Live house shows this weekend and into Monday. While that does provide an opportunity for blue brand Superstars to be at Raw, that wasn’t the entire reason at all.

Dave Meltzer opened up about WWE’s recent cancellations on Wrestling Observer Radio. They already haven’t been getting the best turnouts so the idea of cancelling an entire loop for SmackDown’s brand is very concerning.

“Cancelling the whole weekend for SmackDown, that was a scary thing. Because look at these 1,500, 2,000, and 3,000 [attendance] shows are pretty much the regular now. What kind of advance did they have to cancel a whole tour?”

WWE has plenty of money, but they also don’t like losing it. Therefore, nixing an entire loop for the blue brand really makes us wonder how many tickets were really purchased.

It could be interpreted as “scary,” but it could also provide a shot in the arm for WWE that changes need to be made. Either way, it still isn’t the best news for Vince McMahon’s company.
