Why Paige Wasn’t On SmackDown Live This Week

Paige has been leading Asuka and Kairi Sane into battle since the Superstar Shake-Up. The Kabuki Warriors failed to defeat The IIconics on SmackDown Last week and most fans expected this story to get a follow-up on this week’s show, but that didn’t happen. In fact, Paige and her Kabuki Warriors were missing from the show entirely.

PW Insider reports that Paige was not even backstage at SmackDown Live this week in Miami. So that should explain why she wasn’t used on the show. It might also explain why Asuka and Kairi Sane didn’t appear because their manager wasn’t there.

Instead of mentioning The Kabuki Warriors’ hunt for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, WWE scripted a segment between Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose that they eventually botched during the live broadcast. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see if and when Asuka and Kairi Sane get another shot at those titles.

Paige might not be used on television every week, but it is interesting that she wasn’t around while her team is going after The IIconics’ titles.
