AJ Lee is no longer in WWE, but she will always be a fan favorite for those who remember her time in the ring. However, she recently experienced a very traumatic incident which she shared to social media.

We are not getting political at Ringside News. We try our best to stay out of that polarizing situation because covering pro wrestling news can be treacherous enough. That being said, someone seriously told AJ Lee to “go back where you come from.” This is not okay.

A moment ago, a woman driving by in her car shouted at me to go back to where I came from. Instead of being angry, I’m just going to sit at my computer and keep writing about strong, brilliant, Latina superheroes. That’d probably really piss her off. #RepresentationMatters

Thankfully, AJ Lee is intelligent enough to process this incident appropriately. It still had to hurt her feelings, but she was able to deal with this situation by continuing her work about Latin American superheroes. This was a good way to handle this situation that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

For the record, AJ Lee was born in Union City, New Jersey. So yeah, that was completely uncalled for on so many levels.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
