WWE is trying to get younger audience members to tune in. This is why they scripted Corey Graves to say sh*t on RAW this week and why Kofi Kingston gave Samoa Joe the middle finger on SmackDown live.

AEW is providing WWE with competition whether they like it or not and The Elite are seen as a “cooler” brand. There was once a time when Vince McMahon’s company was considered to be the cooler one in a wrestling war and WWE obviously wants that public opinion to shift back to their side.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is likely going to call up younger wrestlers from NXT. Because they need younger Superstars to appeal to a younger teenage fan base they are really trying to secure.

“No [they don’t have many younger wrestler] but I would think that they’ll probably start bringing some up. Because I think that they know that’s a weak spot.”

We will have to wait and see who WWE calls up from NXT. There are a lot of options and very hungry younger talent in NXT, but age shouldn’t be the only thing the company considers before pulling someone to the main roster. Hopefully, they make some good decisions.
