Eric Bischoff Doing A ‘Dry Run’ For New WWE SmackDown Role

Eric Bischoff was backstage at SmackDown Live this week, but he wasn’t running the show. We previously reported that it won’t be for a couple more weeks until Bischoff really starts his new job, but what is he doing right now?

Brad Shepard reports that Bischoff is currently observing things to see how they run on a weekly basis. After all, it’s been a while since Easy E has been backstage during an actual pro wrestling television broadcast. Therefore, this is a “dry run” for Bischoff’s new role as Executive Director.

A source in #WWE told me Eric is there and will be observing how things are run tonight – dry run only – no involvement.

Only time will tell how things will change after Extreme Rules when Eric Bischoff really takes control. We might be seeing some definite changes, but anything that happens for the next couple of weeks is apparently going on as Bischoff simply gets used to the new position.
