AEW Fyter Fest was last night and although the show was action-packed and didn’t disappoint, some are let down a little bit in regards to how the show performed within the pro wrestling fan base.

Although we don’t know the streaming numbers just yet, we have already reported that the Google search trends did not measure up to Double Or Nothing at all.

Tom Colohue of Post Wrestling reports that a source in WWE told him that there is a belief within the company that AEW will eventually “implode.” This is due to their huge huge hype and how they will not be able to achieve those expectations.

“The feeling is that #AEW will implode under the weight of their own hype. Nobody here is feeling any pressure.” – #WWE source

WWE doesn’t seem to be feeling any pressure. This is interesting because the company is still making changes, but that might be simply to get their own viewership back up.

AEW will continue and debut on TNT in the Fall. So hopefully, interest spikes once again. They need to do something to generate more attention at this point because the overall consensus might point to another pro wrestling company with dwindling interest.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
