WWE is trying a lot of new things to try and gain interest in the product. It seems that one new tactic might be to help give the product more of a legitimate sports feel.

We previously reported that the reason why WWE booked so many 2 out of 3 falls matches was because Vince McMahon sent down a direction on Monday that there is to be no more wrestling during commercial breaks.

Post Wrestling confirmed this story and elaborated on McMahon’s reason for making this decision. It is said that “legitimate sports don’t play during the break, so they are adjusting their match presentation.” This was Vince’s idea.

Therefore, fans can probably expect for WWE to produce more 2 out of 3 falls matches and other ideas to pause the matches during commercial breaks. This might become a bit difficult when time goes on unless they want to straight-up institute time outs which seems to be an absurd idea in pro wrestling.

Hopefully, WWE will be able to carry on with this new edict from The Chairman and not damage the ongoing flow of WWE’s programming.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
