On a recent episode of Celtic Warrior Workouts, Aleister Black discussed his main roster call-up. He didn’t know it was happening and called it a “last minute decision.” Of course, this falls in line with previous reports about how it went down.

Triple H wasn’t event told that Vince McMahon wanted NXT’s top four Superstars. If he had known then maybe he could have clued Vince in on the fact that Tommaso Ciampa was due to have neck surgery after NXT TakeOver: New York.

Black said that the phone call from WWE Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom came out of nowhere. When he picked up the phone he actually joked that he was being fired. “Something like that,” was the response he received from his coach.

“I wasn’t scheduled to be called up. It was a last minute decision. I was just done — with a workout — and it was 11:30 and I didn’t have to be at the live event until 1:00. So, I was just going to take a 45-minute nap. I had my phone by me, and my phone starts to go off and its coach Bloom. He said, ‘I have some news for you’ and as a joke, I said ‘ you are firing me’. And he said, ‘Something like that, this Sunday your flying to Tennessee — so the debut could be kept a secret — and this Monday you make your debut on Raw and Tuesday on SmackDown.”

Aleister Black was moved over to SmackDown Live so he could be with his wife Zelina Vega who was also featured in Sheamus’ newest workout video. She had to travel to the blue brand with Andrade who needed to be on the same brand as Charlotte Flair.

Black has yet to debut yet on SmackDown Live, but we are patiently waiting to see who will step up to him first.
