WWE Super ShowDown Results – June 7, 2019

Our next match is for the Intercontinental Championship. Andrade is out first, alone. I don’t get why Zelina Vega can’t be there, I mean Renee Young is there. Balor’s entrance was different; featuring a dozen others dressed like demons and no real fog. Way less cool than usual.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

(c) Finn Balor VS. Andrade

The match gets underway and Balor takes control early with a shoulder tackle and a front facelock. Andrade fires back with a running knee in the corner. He looks for the hammerlock DDT but Balor escapes and hits a basement dropkick. Balor tips him over and lands a double stomp.

Andrade is tossed over the ropes, then Finn connects with a dropkick through the ropes. Balor looks for the running kick on the apron but Andrade swipes his feet and floors him. Andrade gets Balor back in the ring and hits a trio of suplexes. Andrade applies a submission to ground Finn but the Demon fights out and hits a nice dropkick.

Balor knocks Andrade from the ring with a clothesline, and follows-up with a tope to the floor. Back in the ring, Finn connects with a series of stiff chops, followed by a slingblade. Andrade kicks Finn in the head, then hits a spinning elbow, and a handspring kick. Double knees in the corner from Andrade earns a two count.

Andrade looks for a moonsualt but nobody’s home. He landed on his feet and looked for another moonsault but Finn got his knees up. Balor goes to the apron and Andrade leaped over him, looking for a sunset flip powerbomb but the Demon held onto the ropes, then hit a double stomp on the apron. Finn gets Andrade back in the ring and hits a double stomp to the back of the head. Andrade rolls through a sunset flip and hits double knees, followed by the hammerlock DDT… but Finn kicks out!

Balor reverses a powerbomb to land one of his own, followed by a corner dropkick. Finn goes to the top rope but Andrade meets him there. Balor grabs hold of Andrade and hits a sit-out DDT from the top rope! He runs to the top rope again and hits the Coup de Grace for the win.
