Cody Rhodes is The American Nightmare and the Grandson Of A Plumber. His famous father Dusty Rhodes might have helped Cody get a foot in the door of pro wrestling, but his hard work and ability to bet on himself accomplished a majority of the work too.
During Starrcast, Cody Rhodes was asked about the hiring of Shawn Spears. During his intro video, Spears revealed a 10 of diamonds meaning that he’s in the Diamond Block of the Casino Battle Royal. He revealed his card which is something The Elite told people not to do.
Cody had a simple reply when asked if Spears would be “fined” for this infraction. During his reasoning for not fining the former Tye Dillinger, Cody revealed how much he appreciates the art of nepotism.
“Listen guys I believe in nepotism and I believe in giving our friends jobs. I wouldn’t be sitting here without nepotism so that’s a huge thing.”
AEW’s Double Or Nothing event most likely wouldn’t be possible without Cody Rhodes being a part of it. Therefore, Dusty Rhodes is still very much a presence at Double Or Nothing without him even being able to witness the show.
We are certain that Dusty Rhodes is rooting his boys on as they battle in Las Vegas, but without nepotism this entire operation wouldn’t be possible.
