Pro wrestling is a tough business to be in because of all the punishment that it entails. A lot of WWE Superstars beat up their bodies on the indies as they make their way up which presents a sad issue once they arrive in WWE or NXT because an injury might be close simply due to wear and tear.

Dominik Dijakovic had a lot of promise as he signed with NXT from ROH, but now he is experiencing a bit of a setback because the young Superstar is injured with a meniscus tear. He went under the knife today to correct his issue, but he is very motivated for his return to the ring.

“I know that many of you, you’d consider this a burden or a setback, but not me. I consider this a gift. I’m happy that I had a tear in my meniscus.”

“Because this represents sacrifice, this represents discipline. I had to rip away the weakness to rebuild it to be stronger than ever using my blood. When I was through, the only ones waiting for me were my family. They will drive me to return stronger than ever and regain what is rightfully ours. And that’s the North American Championship.”

Now Dijakovic will have even more of a story to tell once he makes his return. We’re pulling for him because he seemed poised to challenge Velveteen Dream for the NXT North American Title, but now those plans will have to wait.
