The WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony this year included two things that WWE wanted stricken from the record immediately. Actually, there was a third one as well when RD Evans wrote a line in Bret Hart’s speech thanking Vince McMahon which caused him to lose his job with the company.

Two other notable moments that needed to be nixed included some rogue “fan” attacking Bret Hart as well as Triple H opening up some insults directed at All Elite Wrestling. Both of those segments were cut from the re-airing of the event.

On the latest episode of Road To Double Or Nothing, Cody Rhodes had a chance to fire a direct shot at Triple H after he obviously heard The Game refer to AEW as a “pissant company” during the Hall Of Fame.

“You mean to tell me some pissant bodybuilder making every match a ‘No DQ,’ meandering around the crowd, throwing the jib cam at his opponent compares with a Kenny – Okada match?”

“Or, some bra and panties speculator can match-up with what the women did last September 1st? Or even Dwayne—as electric as it was—rhyming and raising. Was it really better than what Punk said, sitting on that stage?”

This was a very clever way to address this shot at AEW. Referring to Triple H as a “pissant body builder” who makes all of his matches a No-DQ stipulation was one of the best lines we’ve ever heard to be honest. Because nobody really likes No DQ since they can be considered lazy by most.

We will have to wait and see if Triple H decides to take any additional shots. As AEW gets closer to a real television contract and becoming actual competition for WWE you never know what kind of verbiage might find its way into the script on WWE programming.

It should be noted that D-Generation X’s WWE Hall Of Fame promo was very unscripted.
